PayNet Refreshes DuitNow QR Standee Design Nationwide
New look, same QR: Visual update standardises QR payment displays without changing how people pay
KUALA LUMPUR, 1 December 2025 – Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has refreshed the DuitNow QR standee design. The new look is being rolled out nationwide to improve the visibility and consistency of Malaysia’s national QR standard. DuitNow QR will now be easier to identify at merchant locations, making the payment experience more seamless and intuitive for both consumers and businesses.
This update is strictly visual. There are no changes to DuitNow QR’s functionality, security or interoperability. DuitNow QR remains Malaysia’s national QR standard, supporting participating banks and e-wallets through a single QR code. With the visual refresh, consumers can keep paying as per normal and merchants can accept payments as usual.
Previously, various standee designs had circulated from different banks and e-wallets, resulting in inconsistencies and confusion at point of sale. The updated design addresses this issue by standardising how DuitNow QR is displayed and positioning it clearly as Malaysia’s official QR payment method. The refreshed standee is a cleaner, more uniform way for businesses to show they accept DuitNow QR.
Deployment of the new standee began in October 2025, with RHB Bank Berhad, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, MBSB Bank and Agrobank among the first to introduce it to their merchants. The rollout is gradual and allows for a smooth transition across the ecosystem. CIMB Bank Berhad, Public Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, AmBank (M) Berhad, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad will deploy next, with other banks set to follow suit. Businesses are encouraged to adopt the revamped standee once it is made available by their respective acquirers.
This redesign supports PayNet’s efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s cashless ecosystem. The more recognisable, standardised design cements DuitNow QR’s role as Malaysia’s single national QR and supports the national agenda of an inclusive digital economy for all.
